Who we are

buildwithsteve is a sole-trader digital presence service operated by Steve [Surname], based in the UK. We build and manage websites, professional email, Google Business Profiles, and related services for UK tradespeople.

What you're paying for

When you sign up, you're paying for:

• A professional website built and hosted for you
• A professional email address on your domain
• Any additional services agreed on your discovery call
• Ongoing management and updates included in your monthly fee

Your monthly fee covers hosting, maintenance, and management. It does not include third-party costs such as domain registration (billed separately at cost, approx. £8–12/yr).

Your domain — plain English

We register and manage your domain on your behalf so you never have to think about renewals or technical settings. You'll receive an annual renewal reminder and invoice.

If you leave buildwithsteve for any reason, we will transfer your domain to wherever you want it — your own Cloudflare account, your new developer, anywhere — within 48 hours of receiving your request.

A £49 admin fee applies to cover the time involved in the transfer. That is the only cost. We will never withhold your domain beyond this.

Your content

All content on your website — your text, your photos, your logo — belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of anything you provide. If you leave, you take it with you.

Monthly payments

Monthly fees are billed in advance. Payment is taken by card via Stripe. If a payment fails, we'll notify you and give you 7 days to resolve it before services are paused.

There are no long-term contracts. You can cancel at any time. Your site stays live until the end of the current billing period.

Cancellation

Cancel any time by WhatsApp or email. No notice period required. No exit fees beyond the domain transfer admin fee (£49) if you want your domain moved.

We don't chase. We don't guilt trip. If it's not working for you, we respect that.

What we need from you

• Accurate information about your business (name, trade, Gas Safe number if applicable)
• Timely responses when we need sign-off on work
• Payment on time

We verify Gas Safe registration numbers before publishing them on any website. It is your responsibility to ensure your registration is current.

What we don't do

• We don't resell or rebrand third-party services as our own (your email runs on your domain, not ours)
• We don't hold your domain hostage
• We don't lock you into contracts
• We don't disappear — you have a direct number for Steve

Liability

We build and maintain your digital presence to the best of our ability. We are not liable for loss of business, missed enquiries, or technical issues outside our control (e.g. Cloudflare outages, Google algorithm changes).

We are not liable for third-party services we set up on your behalf (VoIPstudio, Google Business Profile, WhatsApp Business) — these are governed by their own terms.
